about

With National Coming Out Day, I figured i'd keep the tradition going by releasing an old song of mine with a new perspective on it. I wrote Temporary Girl when I was fifteen and still figuring out who I was. Seven years later, i've become so much more me. I changed this song from a desperate plea for others to recognize me into an unapologetic anthem about who I am regardless of other people's perception.

lyrics

I wanted a boy
That’s what you told me
Not some type of creep who keeps on changing
Oh, that is a shame, I thought you loved me
But I’m not a waste,

I’m not a temporary girl
Do you get what I mean?

I begin to shake because all my life
I wanted a change and this feels just right
But you say I’m wrong for feeling this way
And I’m still a man despite what I say
Oh, that is a shame, I thought you stood behind the choices I’ve made

I’m not a temporary girl
Do you get what I mean?

I feel so alive, my body's aligned with the inside
I can’t deny my life is starting to feel right
I hear the yells and cries, they want me to die
Fuck what they think, I’ll live my own life
I’ll live my own life

I don’t care how you react anymore
I have found something that I can live for
So goodbye, old friend, good luck with your life
I have got to go show the outside

I’m not a temporary girl
Do you get what I mean?
